Educating humanity for a brighter future.
We start where it matters most, at home and with parents. Every book we publish has to teach something concrete that families can use the same week they read it.

A small press, with a long line of thinking behind it.
Starborn Press operates as the publishing arm of the Starborn family of companies, alongside Starborn Thrive, our sister project for parents and parent education. Every Starborn venture applies the same scientific principles and human values to help people learn, grow, and build calmer lives at every age.
Our founding author, Dr. Richard (Rick) M. Kubina Jr., has spent more than three and a half decades studying behavior in home, classrooms, and clinics. After years of watching families and teachers wrestle with problems that already have real, research-backed answers, he decided that tired yet devoted parents deserved that knowledge in their hands by 10 p.m., not locked in journals.
We publish into a noisy moment. Influencer feeds, gentle-parenting clichés, and viral takes deliver a steady stream of confident advice with very little science underneath. Our books attempt the opposite, carefully sourced and thoughtfully delivered content grounded in evidence.
Three things we won’t compromise on.
- Evidence, before everything.
Every claim in a Starborn Press book has to trace back to research that a working scientist would defend. No vibes or opinions dressed up as data. And certainly no “trust me, I raised three kids.”
- Concrete, not cutesy.
A reader can put a Starborn book down before bed and try something different the next morning. If a chapter doesn’t teach a skill, change a script, or shift a habit, we send it back.
- Small, on purpose.
We publish short-ish books and read every manuscript obsessively. We’d rather wait an extra season than ship a book that doesn’t earn its place on your shelf (and your respect).
